Legacies of War is thrilled to introduce this year's Peace Fellows: Jewelry Pouna Keodara and Kathryn Walker! We are proud to honor their exemplary service and work in advocacy by awarding this fellowship.
This special fellowship honors the incredible legacy of Titus and Linda Peachey, whose decades of service in Laos have inspired generations to pursue peace, justice, and healing. From their early days in post-war Laos to their continued advocacy around the world, The Peachey's have been tireless truth-tellers, carrying with them a simple but powerful request from a grieving Lao father: “Please tell our story so that it won’t happen again.”
Jewelry Keodara brings deep roots in the Lao community and a powerful commitment to storytelling, healing, and cultural connection.
Kathryn Walker is a passionate advocate and scholar with a heart for justice and global solidarity.
As Peachey Peace Fellows, they will travel to Laos with Legacies of War, engaging directly with communities impacted by unexploded ordnance (UXO), and continuing the essential work of raising awareness, remembering history, and promoting peace.
This fellowship is a continuation of a legacy. A call to carry forward the memory and the mission.
Please join us in congratulating Jewelry and Kathryn as they embark on this powerful journey this November and early 2026. Their work honors not only the past, but also the hopeful future that the Peachey's envision for Laos and beyond.
Thank you, Titus and Linda, for showing us what steadfast compassion looks like.
I am at a loss for words to express my gratitude at being selected as a Titus and Linda Peachey Peace Fellow. This is more than an honor—it reaches to the core of who I am as a Lao American. It allows me to honor the legacy of my family and community, while confronting the lasting impact of war. Meeting Titus and Linda was life-changing. Their brilliance, kindness, and unwavering dedication to demining and prevention inspire me deeply. They embody a rare light and compassion, and I am humbled to follow the path they have paved.
Returning to Laos through this fellowship feels like a full-circle moment. As a child, I traveled there seeking my roots. Now, as an advocate, I will return with purpose: to honor my community, witness its resilience, and advance work in demining and prevention. I cannot thank Titus and Linda enough for their generosity and example. I am honored to carry forward their vision and help transform the legacies of war into legacies of peace. - Jewelry Pouna Keodara
Over the years, Legacies of War has opened my eyes to the deep history of Laos and the power of its people. Their storytelling doesn’t just inform; it mobilizes, and I want to do what I can to help advance this mission. It’s my privilege to stand with them, bringing awareness to all walks of life and striving to clear Laos, Cambodia, and Vietnam. Through this fellowship, I hope to deepen my understanding of the fuller history and culture of Laos, gain greater insight into the ongoing impacts of UXO and use these lessons to strengthen future demining and prevention efforts while promoting healing and global peace.
I have a lot to learn—and how better than from leaders like Titus and Linda, whose powerful legacy of advocacy, compassion, and peace inspires me deeply. I’m honored to carry forward this work as a Titus & Linda Peachey Peace Fellow and to join this journey with such a remarkable group of fellows, past and present. - Kathryn Walker
