A Framework for Building a Movement to Address the Legacies of War

The Originals live on in the Legacies Library: a collection of books, films, and articles that tells the story of the American bombing of Laos (1964-1973) and its neighbors in Vietnam and Cambodia–ensuring it’s no longer a footnote in American history.

Legacies of War invests in the next generation of advocates two ways: training new voices at scale, and immersing committed leaders in firsthand experience. Together, these programs ensure the movement grows both wider and deeper.

​Healing this history means reaching every person it touches. Through story, art, culture, and partnership, Legacies of War creates space for each of these communities to process, reconnect, and carry this shared history forward together.

Legacies of War leads the largest Lao American and women-led movement, advocating for families to live on bomb-free land. Rooted in community and shaped by those most affected, we work to ensure the legacies of the U.S. wars are met with sustained support.
