Events

Legacies of War uses art, culture, education, and community organizing around events (virtually and in person) to bring people together and create healing and transformation out of the wreckage of war. Throughout the year, we engage audiences in panel discussions, creative convening, and programming centered around history, healing, and hope.

50th Year Forget Me Not Tour

It is a critical and emotional year here at Legacies.

2023 marks a critical year for Legacies of War’s mission as it is the 50th year since the last American bombs were dropped on Laos (August 14th, 1973) as well as the 50th year since the signing of the Paris Peace Accords (January 27th, 1973).

This is an homage to all the lives that were lost during the war, the current victims of UXO/landmine accidents, and future victims of UXO accidents if we do not find and remove these indiscriminate weapons first. This is our way of showing the promise that we will never forget them and continue our fight for funding and education of the history and resolve the current problems.

We think the flower is fitting as it symbolizes love, respect and the promise that the recipient of the flower will always be remembered.

We will work with each community to craft an event that will resonate best with the local partner organization. Legacies of War will provide access to a selection of experts on our board and partners that can speak about initiatives and relevant issues that compliments our work.
