Advocacy Ambassador

"Becoming an Advocacy Ambassador with Legacies of War means a lot to me. As the daughter of Vietnamese refugees, I carry my family’s stories and sacrifices wherever I go. The effects of war don’t end when the fighting stops, and so many of those stories are still untold. I believe it’s on us to share them. Not just to remember, but to heal. I’m so grateful for Legacies of War and the work they do to honor history, raise awareness, and build a more peaceful future for the next generation."

    My Story

Jenny Nguyen is a first-generation Vietnamese American and the daughter of refugees who fled Vietnam by boat after the war. Her family’s journey has deeply shaped her passion for peacebuilding and reconciliation. She previously worked at the U.S. Institute of Peace, supporting programs that address the legacies of the Vietnam War and strengthen relations between the United States and Southeast Asia. Jenny earned her bachelor’s degree in Business Economics from Wichita State University and her master’s in International Development Studies from The George Washington University. Her experiences, both personal and professional, have fueled her commitment to amplifying voices affected by war and creating spaces for understanding and healing. Her work with Legacies of War reflects her belief that peace begins with empathy, storytelling, and connection.
