Cathleen Balid

Princeton Internships in Civic Service Emeritus, Advocacy Ambassador

“As a Filipina writer active in the literary magazine space, I’ve worked with Southeast Asian storytelling as a rewriting of erasure. Legacies of War similarly reclaims war narratives through its bold advocacy for UXO clearance in Southeast Asia—and I am excited to drive real change as an Advocacy Ambassador.”

    My Story

Cathleen Balid is a freshman at Princeton University with a major in English Literature and prospective minors in History & the Practice of Diplomacy, East Asian Studies, and Creative Writing. A previous judicial intern at the U.S District Court for the Southern District of New York, as well as the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of HaluHalo Journal, an international literary and arts journal highlighting Southeast Asian youth, Cathleen is particularly interested in Southeast Asian representation in literature, policy, and law.
