"Having fled Laos as children, my parents' actions and life decisions have always been shaped by a desire for a better life. And it's something I try not to take for granted. As I grew up, I came to the somewhat shocking realization that the world has no idea what happened and is still happening in Laos. Understanding the impact of the "Secret War" and the web of stories of people like my parents, like children who discover bombs while playing, and like Lao-Americans who want to connect with their heritage, is an incredibly important part of healing and building a better world. I am excited to help Legacies of War and bring these stories to light."
My Story
Welcome to the Legacies Board of Directors, Justin! Justin leads Product Growth at Persona, a Silicon Valley-based identity infrastructure company transforming the way businesses and consumers engage and build trust on the internet. Prior to Persona, Justin led the Consumer Product Management team at Ethos Life, a direct-to-consumer Fintech company protecting thousands of families in the United States. Justin holds a B.A. in Economics from the University of California, Berkeley.
Justin's journey with Legacies of War started when he was a student at the University of California, Berkeley where he volunteered with Legacies of War's groundbreaking national speakers tour “Voices from Laos: Clearing Bombs, Protecting Lives.” As a 1st generation Lao-American, he is passionate about creatively sharing and amplifying the stories of the Lao community.
