Anna Siliphone Phommachanthone,

Manager of Operations and Community Outreach | Anna@legaciesofwar.org

    My Story

Siliphone (Anna) Phommachanthone (si-li-pon ahn-na pom-ma-jun-ton) immigrated to the United States at the age of 4 from Laos. She joined Legacies of War as the Senior Executive in  2020 and is now Manager of Operations and Community Outreach.

She graduated from Franklin and Marshall College in 2022 with a bachelor's degree in Business, Organization, and Society / International Studies and Environmental Studies. Through her dedication to bringing more awareness to the American Secret War in Laos and advocating for a UXO-free Laos, Anna was selected into the 5th cohort of the Mine Action Fellows Program through Mine Action Canada, where she has the opportunity to attend the 10th and 11th MSP on the Convention of Cluster Munitions at the United Nations in Geneva.

Most recently, Anna was in Laos on a Fulbright U.S. Student Research Fellowship studying UXO land release. She gathered positive stories and shed light on how the people of Laos benefit from UXO clearance. With her own family having to flee Laos in the early 80s, she sees them in every citizen she speaks with. Through her research, she aims to share her findings through Legacies of War.

In her free time, Anna enjoys exploring nature through traveling and hiking, in addition to feeding her creativity through modeling, photography, and cooking.
