Lanterns were hung at SPARC in Los Angeles on April 28thA physical, pyschological and spiritual space representing loss, healing and hope. Utilizing photographs of Laotians who have been directly affected by the war and clandestine bombings, this interactive work projects black and white images onto functional paper lanterns. Reminiscent of a traditional "spirit house," the installation gently guides a rememberance and honoring of those lost, while also evoking the interplay of light and shadow, illusion and truth.
