Oral History Project

Currently, there is no national effort to document the stories of Laotian Americans and their experiences of war. The Legacies Oral History Project addresses this need by capturing and archiving such stories. The collection of stories are used in multiple ways: to inform performance and visual artists in developing their pieces; to assist academics and scholars in their research; and to support mental health experts working with Laotian populations. A team of oral historians, educators, mental health experts, translators, researchers, artists and film documentarians work together in developing this project.
