Focusing on the lessons of the bombing in Laos, a high school-level teaching curriculum will be available through an on-line teachers’ guide and as a supplementary resource at the exhibition. The curriculum is intended to stimulate conversation about the connection between the unique story of Laos to the broader issue of the continuing use of indiscriminate weapons and its impact on civilian populations today, such as in the Middle East. The Legacies of War curriculum was successfully pilot-tested at Aviation High School in Seattle, WA. The curriculum will be evaluated over the next six months, with the goal of preparing the curriculum for national distribution in Fall 2007. Please contact Phitsamay S. Uy at puy@edc.org for more information.
